Perak proudly celebrates Ipoh as the first city in Asia to adopt the Doughnut Economics framework – a bold step towards a city that prospers without breaching planetary boundaries. This launch also marks a significant milestone in the effort to shape Ipoh into a progressive, prosperous, and resilient model city.

Launched by YBhg. Tuan Zamakshari Hanipah, Mayor of Ipoh, this Action Plan sets the course to 2027, with Ipoh as a model for ASEAN cities where economic growth, environmental care, and social well-being work in harmony.

YBhg. Tuan Zamakshari Hanipah, Mayor of Ipoh, emphasised in his speech that this action plan is not merely an official document, but a concrete roadmap for sustainable urban transformation.
This action plan ensures sustainable growth without compromising the well-being of people and the planet. This affirms the Perak State Government’s commitment to making Ipoh an inclusive, competitive city and a benchmark not only for Malaysia, but also for the ASEAN region.
