QUESTIONS

Got a question about Belum Forest Friends that isn't covered here? Drop us an email at editorial@brainsfeed.org.

What is BFF?

Short for Belum Forest Friends, BFF is a social initiative under the management of the Belum Rainforest Resort to preserve the Belum-Temengor Rainforest Complex and help the Orang Asli children who live there. The Pulau Banding Foundation and Yayasan Emkay are also partners in this initiative.

How can I get involved?

Choose between planting an agarwood (gaharu) tree or sponsor a school uniform for an Orang Asli child, or better yet, get involved in both! Fill in the registration form here and the BRainSfeed team will get back to you!

How much is it to contribute to the cause?

A small donation of MYR100 could get a tree planted or provide a set of school uniforms for an Orang Asli child.

Why choose the agarwood tree for the tree planting initiative?

The agarwood tree is native to the Belum-Temengor Rainforest Complex and is highly endangered. Your contribution will therefore allow the agarwood tree to be preserved for future rehabilitation.

How do I know if my tree is planted?

You can either visit the Belum Rainforest Resort and plant your own tree or have the team to plant one on your behalf. The team will then inform you when your tree is planted through email.

Why sponsor a school uniform?

Many Orang Asli children do not have the opportunity to finish their primary and secondary education. By donating a set of school uniforms, not only do children of Belum-Temongor get to dress appropriately for school, but the smart new uniform also encourages them to be more motivated in school.

What do I get in return?

Sign up today to get yourself an exclusive BFF Welcome Pack! Gifts comprise a BFF T-Shirt, a car sticker, and a useful bag for your outdoor adventures.

I don’t have the resources to contribute to the cause right now. How else can I help?
